| As many of you may have read recently I(mama t) have not been feeling so great lately. I will say I did have a sneaking suspicion. To be sure, we made a doctors appointment. And now I feel it is time for me to share our news with all of you. Program Man and myself are expecting gremlin number two!!!! <333 We are about 6 weeks along, and yes we where trying. At this time, we have discovered our previous doctor does not delivery babies anymore. So we are on the hunt for a new doctor we like. This doesnt mean much right now, just a lot of planning and nervous jitters. But I will say that we do have some activities in planning for everyone here on the site. Currently Program Man is out of town on business, and my hard drive is on the fritz. He is scheduled to return tomorrow some time. Im told he is aware of the Support Tickets you have all sent in, and he is very eager to get back and fix these issues. At this time, I ask that everyone please be patient with us, miss frivolity deserves a big thank you for holding the fort down this past week. I have found a old laptop we have, so she has me again. Winners of the contest have been decided, and are listed in a notepad on my fritzed laptop, so as soon as Program Man gets me back up and running we will be announcing them as well. Being Ill I have no more patience for this, so here is the news posting.Message me if its yours. Also, as mentioned -I'm ill-. Having a lot of nausea issues, I go to the doctor this coming Tuesday to find out what's going on. I have not forgotten about the website contests, I'm just not having a lot of time and energy to get to it. | Hey all!!! First Happy Second Birthday to the site, to all of you, and to us. It has been a fabulous two years with all of you. I have made many wonderful new friends, associates and acquaintances. We certainly would not have made it thus far without all the love and support of our amazing users and moderator volunteers. So a massive thank you to everyone! <333 Mushy stuffs out of the way, here is a list and some screen shots of the changes we uploaded last night. Our footer has had a make over, it is now cleaner and less intrusive.  Our Capallian 'sidebar' information is now collapsible for a cleaner, clutter-free look on the right when you don't need the info. :)  Our Help Page has a new updated wiki, and some updated links. Frivi will be making a post on the Help Board soon concerning new entries :) A sneak preview of the new wiki -  And a big Thank You to Miss Days || Has finally bred some good Alter-Real horses =) and Rookie| Mood: Amused | Echo had twin pegasus! for helping our wonderful Frivolity get all that information up and organized, double checked for corrections, etc. We really appreciate your help, and I am sure new users will too. Honors are being made over from simple text to little images, with mouse over descriptions. Be on the look out for these updates as they happen. :) Clinic vaccinations have been rearranged and updated. They now stand out a little more, and your price overview is on top, and one line.  We are very happy to present to you all an Advanced Sales Search. Follow the Map -> Search link, and open your usual Capall sale search box. This now has a link to our advanced search feature, and you can play to your hearts content with the options Program Man has included for you all.   In your Stable Settings page there is a new option for opened/closed/ or no box around your capalls in your stable's two views.  The Capall Care Centers were previously two lines,they are now all neatly arranged in one line at the top of your stable. In addition to this update, at the bottom of your stable there were previously two sections (stables where you help and clean other stables) - this has been updated to one box that has a much faster streamlined look.  *Yours will probably not be these colors as this is from my stable and is the coloring of my personal layout.* On your individual capall pages, the horses held a lot of information inside one collapsible box. This data is now divided in two boxes, one with the capalls editable information, and one with information you cannot.  Your horses care charts where also previously in an an collapsible box, they are now inside a open collapsible box  and on a side note, we're taking suggestions as to what you might like to see this pretty phoenix do to your horsies, cause he is kind of ready and waiting ;) The capall family trees offspring section has had some lineage information added,program man also spiffying what he could there.  Capalls public registrations have been disabled. We will let everyone know when they re-open. In the mean time we have a new rare breed. This species works a bit differently then the rest. As you all know, it is called 'Equorpius'  This species is double the price of our others, and is only available from February 1st-14th of each year. We hope that this will help keep our capallian creation numbers lower, as well as maintaining the specialty of this species. Accounts #320, 321, and 322, are now up for auction. Starting bid is $40. They come with a male and female equorpius and are Forever Upgrades. Link to Auction New Mod Announcements Mod applications have been sorted through. | We are doing this a little early so that it doesn't conflict so much with B-Day stuffs ^_^ Right now we are opening up applications for new mods. Just because we have opened applications does not mean that we will be choosing new mods. If none of the applications we receive meet our expectations, no one will be chosen. Similarly, there is no set number for how many applications we will choose out of those received. Requirements for Applications: - Upgraded and Non-Upgraded are welcome to apply - If you have any levels on your account above Level 2, you will not be considered. ATTENTION: There seems to be a lot of confusion on this point. By "levels" I mean the Capalls version of warnings, not ribbon or experience levels. If you don't know what a level is, you more than likely don't have any xD - You must be 13. This is because per our TOS you must be 13 to play. Some information on Moderators.... As the manager of the Mod Team, I feel it's my duty to give you a little insight as to what this job is all about. Mods on Capalls are not only rule-enforcement. As a Moderator, you are trusted by admin with added tools and responsibilities. To give you an idea, mods are regularly given my phone number so that I can be contacted quickly if something is truly amiss. It is expected that you be an outstanding role model for other members of the site. This means that you treat all members with respect, you keep your temper in line, and you help where help is needed. Your behavior on other websites must also be to extremely high standards. As Capalls Staff, you become part of the "image" of the site. You are easily identified, and other players WILL watch what you do on their sites and WILL relate that to Capalls. As a Mod you will be yelled at, you will deal with the same issues over and over (and over) again, sometimes with the same player. It will be assumed that you're the perfect stable hand (and you will receive requests), that you have a huge amount of money, and that you'd be more than happy to rescue countless Capalls. So what's the reward? The reward is seeing Capalls made a better game for all players involved. You get to be the peace maker, the "front line", and admittedly sometimes the janitor. But when all is said and done, you are also someone who is looked up to, and who helps make Capalls what it is. If you're still interested: Please fill out the following application and send it to me (Frivolity, #7) and only me. Applications sent to any other admin or posted in comments will be automatically disqualified. Rule 1: Follow directions. If you have any questions or concerns, those should also be directed at my inbox. I expect thoughtful answers using correct grammar and punctuation. I will not even bother to look at applications using chat speak. Any answers past Question 7 should be MUCH more than one line. The questions are based off of situations that we have already had to deal with, so be aware when you answer them that these things will become part of your job. If you don't like the idea of dealing with a situation asked in the questions, do not apply. There are no completely "right" answers, but I am looking for specific key ideas and understanding of the rules. Applications must be in my inbox by Monday, January 25th, and no later. | First of all, some things have been fixed and added around the site: 1. The Breeding Barn was not taking funds for breeding requests, this has been fixed. A message is also now displayed if you already have an open breeding request with a capall. And a small spelling error was fixed on the the private bid acceptance message. 2. The Guest account was unable to log out after the logout button was moved, this is now fixed. 3. The Manage Your Bids page has been added!! - You can delete bids you've made on Capalls after a waiting period of 24 hours if it has not already been accepted. - You can now view all of your current bids. - When you remove a capall from Private Sale, it automatically deletes pending bids. - If you own a capall up for sale, you can now delete bids that have been made on it. REMINDER: Remember to get your entries in for the Poetry and Banner contests! See the previous news post for links. Remember that new breed we hinted at? Here's your second hint. The name of the breed is Equorpius. Guess away ^_^ Three low numbered accounts will be up for auction soon! They will be numbers 320, 321, and 322, and they will all be forever upgraded and come with one of each gender of the new breed. The auction will begin on Capalls' birthday (Feb 2nd), and will be posted on the General Game Discussion board. Now, for a rather important announcement. There are a lot of systems on Capalls that we would like to both improve and add. If you've been reading the Ideas Board you'll see that we really want to makeover the jobs and market system. There are a lot of new items we'd like to add, as well as genetics. While all of this is going on, Capalls will be closed to new registration. If you are already registered, this will not affect you! The site will remain open and functioning and all that good stuff. We just want to keep things a little reined in while we're building xD This will be advertised in other places beginning this weekend, but we just wanted to give all of you guys a heads up. We honestly are not sure when we will re-open registration as it depends on how smoothly the new systems get put in! Annnnnnnd..... A preview of just one of the new art pieces that will soon be up on the site!  Be thinking about whether or not you would like to apply as a mod, applications will come out a little earlier than usual so that they don't overlap with Birthday festivities. | First there has been some confusion over the poetry contest and whether or not we want single or multiple line stanzas. I have thought about this over night, and I'm going to say that we would prefer multiples. Simply because we feel that this is little trickier then singles. Any questions just let me know! Second, we received a payment this morning with no user id, and the email did not match any in our systems. If this was you please contact me, Mama T, so we can get you your CTs ^_^ And Third is just a little review of everything... obviously we have the two contests going on, we also have the three forever upgraded accounts coming up for auction. I will also say that a review and delete your bids on capalls page is coming soon and I am also working on organizing some monthly events. We where going to do weekly, but after much discussion with all the changes pm and I are working on at this time weekly seemed a bit too much for us to handle. Oh, and I heard some whispers that a new rarer rare breed may be on its way for our birthday at the beginning of February. | I had Program Man back up the site to our test server, so we may begin installing and testing a few big changes and feature additions. | We have been dropping a hint or three in the last several days that a few contests where on there way. Well the time has come to announce these beast's!! We realize that not everyone has artistic or linguistic abilities, but we hope that everyone will do there best to have fun with these two contest's. _____________________________________________ Poetry Contest So let's start the fun with our first ever Poetry Contest!! Our Moderators will be judging the entries, and choosing our winners. Because of this, no moderators may enter. The rules are very simple, and entering is even easier. First choose which type of poem you would like to write. We will be accepting the two following forms of poems. Acrostic - Poetry that certain letters, usually the first in each line form a word or message when read in a sequence. Haiku - A Japanese poem composed of three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five more, usually containing a season word. Your topic is simple, Capalls!!! Write about your favorite things involving the site, features we have, or the community involved here. We want you to showcase what is special about capalls to you. Once you have typed up your poem submit it to this board: Official Capalls Poem Contest Entries Thread Entries will no longer be accepted after January the 29th. Our team will deliberate and let me know there votes by the 1st of February, and we will announce winners the following day, on Capalls Second Birthday! _____________________________________________ Banner Contest Now onto our Front Page Banner Contest!!! The rules are a little trickier here, and we are going for a certain look for the website. No moderators may enter, and our administrative team will be judging the entries. Images should be no wider the 475 pixels wide, and 271 pixels in height. We would like to see 'Irish' green rolling landscapes, sticking with our Old Gaelic theme and direction. We would like to see at least one horse on these images also. Once your entry is finished you may post it here: Official Capalls Front Page Banner Entries Thread Entries will no longer be accepted after January the 29th. Coming Soon - Forever Upgrade Accounts for Auction and New Arts We will be placing these accounts up for Auction January 15th. More details on the accounts and the goodies they hold will be released then. This Auction will end on the 1st of February, winners being announced on the 2nd, with all our other winners. ^_^ Whispers are true... I have contacted several artists for new arts around the site. You can all look forward to some new and updated maps as well as a few fresh faces around the site in the next several weeks. I think that pretty much covers everything for right now. New Help Line and Some Site Spiffing! |

| So between our staff, there is usually one of us online just about all hours of the day. Due to this, I thought we could try out a new help system. I've opened an MSN Messenger account at CapallsHelpLine@live.com. If you would like, you can add this to your contacts and if you see it online you can instant message us with any questions related to the site. No one will ever be on the line but admins and moderators, but if for some reason you don't want us to know your real name and things of that nature, remember to change it before you contact us. Also remember that the same Capalls rules apply -- no spammage, no inappropriate language or topics please! I'm hoping this will be a nice helpful little service for when you have those quick questions :) In other news, some of you may have noticed that the site has been getting some polishing today. The top navigation has been cleaned up a bit, some of the footer links and sidebar links have been organized, and the "logout" button has been changed to the sidebar (apparantly its previous location was causing a bit of confusion XD). Also, it was brought to our attention that the caramel apples have still been appearing in the EF. These have been removed finally xD And y'all thought you could just keep it on the down low and keep collecting them -shakes head- Naughty :P Stay tuned, over the next couple days we'll be announcing some brand new contests for all of you, as well as some information about new art that will be appearing around the site! | As of today, the Terms of Service have been changed so that you must be 13 in order to register on the site, period. Item #1 reads as follows: "Capalls is intended for players 13 and up, and its content is PG-13. Players under the age of 13 are NOT authorized to use this site. By registering for Capalls, you assert that you are over the age of 13. Please view our Statement for Parents." What This Means: If you are under 13 and you registered before today, you will NOT be banned. We will check your registration date against today's date and know that you joined before this change was made. As the TOS state, we do not punish "ex post facto", which means we don't punish players for things they did before the rules were changed :) From now on however any new players who register must be at least 13. If we see that a player has stated somewhere on the site that they are under 13, their account will be frozen. They will be free to join again once they have reached 13. This change was made due to COPPA laws (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act). It has long been the standard that "13 or parent permission" stated in the TOS is in line with this law, however once we began really researching and investigating it we found that this is not the case. In reality, in order for us to knowingly collect information from minors under 13 we would need to collect physical permission slips (that means through mail or fax) from every parent!
